absolutely excellent :)
i love the bassline,its so simple but very ooomphy
and the atmosphere is great, some great light sawy noises on the left panning...pro53 or the scream 4 distortion?
good intro, building synths with nice flange :stongue: oh oh vocals nice nice :tongue3
nice breakbeats, then bam into the 4x4. love it dude great track
only thing i might say is it needs a little more energy wit a solid lead thats all

hehe, yeah.. the light synth noise panned to the left is a subtractor, i cant remember if it has scream 4 or not, but im pretty sure i know the one you are talking about and its a sub.
about the main lead.. i always seem to stray away from a main lead in my songs and i always dabble around with different instruments and sounds to keep it interesting, but i have had other comments like yours about having a main lead and i think in my next production that will be the next step i take into learning how to do a main lead to bring it all together and give a main theme.

Well Ive said this in many places and many mis understand me, So far Im using fruityloops and I can get a good song basis but it still sounds amature, I Eq it correctly and it gets a little better.
No matter who I ask I am said its me, but im sure Fruityloops (allthough a great program) is nothing of the standard of programs 3 times the price,
ever used fruity, what would you rate it. I need an opinon of someone who is producing tracks in the quality I want to be
Also how many instances of the same synths did you use etc. |

its not that fruity loops is a bad program (and its not), but some people work better with different tools. i would suggest that if you are having trouble with fruity to try something like reason or cubase (or the two combined.. thats my favorite setup using rewire and working in both reason and cubase together simultaneously).
also, another reason you might not be getting the sound you want is because you arent using enough effects.. i use a lot of reverb and delays (with the delay i do a lot of stereo effects like make the delay go to the left and then pan the instrument to the right so you get sound boucing from left to right and such.. that combined with the right amount of reverb and maybe some other fx will you get a more 'pro' sound (just dont use too much or it will sound 'muddy' because there is too much crap going on). with the layers thing, i sometimes use layers (like on that distorted bass sound during the breakbeats) but a lot of the time its a single instrument.. another cool effect you can make is to have two instruments that sound close to the same as each other, but not quite and pan one to the left most of the way and one to the right most of the way and have them play the same thing (doesnt have to be the same thing tho), that will give a nice stereo effect.

Good job Extalin! You were always a perfectionist, when it came to sound, and creation - great job! I knew you'd make something killer.
I remember the original version, and I don't like it at all - this remix uses the vocals better imho. The part when the strings are sweeping in, and the vocals are playing slower (stretched, or lower pitch?) is a little weird, but then I got used to it.
At 5:06 you got some SERIOUS distorted synths goin on. That's pretty cool man. Didn't expect that, lol!

well.. it's not fruitys fault so it have to be you... caus there is many pro producer that uses fruity.
for example our own parker, cosmic gate, flutlicht, ronski speed i think etc.... so you can make great track's in fruity.. you just have to practise |

So true - I've talked to people like 'Goldenscan' - well, Tom of Goldenscan who was a part of 'Sunrise', and he heard one of my songs, and said I used a 'Virus' to make one of the synths, but I had used "3xosc"! LOL! Well, I've been trying my best to master Fruityloops in the short time that I have used it (Year, and a half) and so far, I'm getting good results. One of my friends thinks I've mastered it, but I still think I have SO much work to do.
One thing that Fruity won't teach you is 'synth layering'. You gotta learn how to do that yourself - not only that, the proper use of 'FX', 'Plugins', and 'VST's'. That's your key to sounding pro. Other than that, I can agree with DBL's comment, which is why I quoted it. -Mental |

Well Im not an idiot, I actauly know My way around fruity quite well.
I know how to link stuff to one of fruitys internal controlers and change envelope settings. I know basicly what A,D,S and are does I also use the Apreggiator in some of my background melodys and I use sends (although Im not sure why a send it makes it sound different)
But I know all this quite well, Ive been trying to get things fit together as of late with Reverb, decay, panning and I discovered EQ can also help place stuff however things normaly sound seperated Still :(
But I guess I just need to alter my VST synths or Practise more Trance Style EQing (I started of producing breakbeats).

That's what is natural to assume, but there's so many other factors involved than price. Cubase for example does have lots more features than Fruity, but few people use every one of those features. IMHO the included effects are better than the ones in Fruity, but there are Vst and Direct X effects that sound better than both. The thing is, there is most likely something out there that sounds "better" than what you use. There are compressors available that cost several thousands of dollars, but that doesn't make a freeware Vst compressor obsolete. The same goes with synths. Some of the (top of the line) hardware synths available sounds better than any Vst synth I've ever tried, to my ears that is. Better filters and oscillators , but the difference isn't that big (and only noticable on certain sounds) and absolutely not near an absolute requirement to make a good song. I've heard some really songs, both technically and musically, from people that has lots and lots of expensive gear.
So my point is exactly the same as the other has said. With practice you will eventually learn how to get a song sound good no matter what sequencer you use. My advice is to try out the different programs and see what is the most convenient for you to use. And about Fruity Loops, I think so many people in this forum has shown that it's possible to make great tunes in it:)

p.s. i saw scott bond spin last night and he tore it up! after the show i gave him a cd with my remix and another song on it and he seemed really cool about it and so i hope he will listen to it. he was a really good dj and a nice guy too. anyway, im off to a party :D (again lol). i will see you guys later. |
