Can't say that I like the track, can't say that Tiësto's written it himself either. Check out Sean Deason - Psychofuk. |
the vinyl says:
Sample taken from the track Psykofunk by Sean Deason :p

This year has been a great year for trance, both uplifting and progressive. There have been some very solid tunes released along with some new producers blowing the scene up. My picks for tune of the year are... (Long Post)
Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes :: Obviously, all mixes are great of this song, the vocals, the buildups, simply breathtaking the way it was produced. Haven't heard a song this good for a very long time.
Kate Bush vs Infusion - Running Up that Hill :: Progressive at its best, holy what a buildup, the entire song is a buildup till those memorable vocals come in "Come on baby... Come on darling..."
Ferry Corsten - Rock Your Body Rock (F Massif Remix) :: I mention this one just because of the originality of this song. Ferry Corsten always surprises me, first Punk, then Indigo, now this. Very creative producer, I used to think he was uplifting 100%.
Dave Gahan - Dirty Sticky Floors (Junkie XL Vocal Remix) :: A sweeping wave of emotion in this one with those far off bell-sounds that build the melody... beautiful throughout and incredible buildup, again very original.
Delerium - After All (Satoshi Tomiie and Svenson & Gielen Remixes) ::
The Satoshi remix really makes those haunting vocals shine to the fullest with the progressive bassline and then the piano towards the end is the icing on the cake. The Svenson & Gielen remix was so full of energy the first I heard it I was blown away, one of the better uplifting tracks this year.
Grayarea - Yewminyst :: This song is breakbeat, however, if this song doesn't rock your freakin senses you need to open your mind. That melody line is orgasmic, especially when it comes back in with the bassline. One of the best and most original breakbeat tunes in a long time, along with Donner Pass by Momu.
Honorable Mentions:
Starchaser - Falling Stars (Original Dub)
Skin - Faithfulness (Dj Tiesto Vocal Remix)
Andain - Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dresden Unplugged Mix)
Annie Lennox - Pavement Cracks (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Momu - Donner Pass
Mesh - Purple Haze
Tiesto - Nyana
Rank 1 - Perfect Blend
Cultivate - Broken Pieces (Max Graham's Third Street Remix)
Push - Live Another Life
Scott Bond vs Solar Stone - 3rd Earth
Duncan Shiek - On a High (Gabriel & Dresden's Love from Humboldt Remix)
Tomcraft - Loneliness
I'm probably missing tons of great tunes, but these tunes have something that sets them apart from all the other standard 2003 trance/electronica tunes. Year ain't over yet! |
