| FM7 have some nice ones but I have to around with EQ until it sounds , the Pro 53 is good except it seems to paly the echo of the keys being pressed as though it were being played internaly by a heavy fingered twat |

VSTi softsynths
Also, to get rid of that echo you are talking about, try turnign down the delay effect. I think its somewhere in the top right of the pro-52/53 panel. |

| The free Session one (also called the Carbon) from Native Instruments is good. It's included with the Future Music magazine this month I believe. The Pro-53 should be fine though. And the Novation V-station is also good of course. |

Pro-53 is superb, it sounds (from your limited description) as if you may be suffering high latency. Get it set up right and you're away :)
On the hardware side, check the Waldorf Micro Q or Access Virus / Indigo. |

For producing trance, these are (IMO) the best softsynths.
Linplug Albino - 500 trance presets)
Novation V-Station - exact model of the K-Station)
RGCAudio z3ta+ (zeta) - 8 oscillators!!!
But nothing will beat the sounds that come out of an Access Virus C! |

| I use pro 53 for almost everything I do. You can't tell its not a real hardware synth. |

Try a virus C.. Dont buy an Indigo... Why because the indigo is nothing more then a Virus C with a keyboard and a new colour... |

I use a wide range of softsynth Vst instruments like the:
VAZ2010
Superwave (which dont run due to power problems)
z3ta+
Pro53
Novation V-Station
and more...
I have recently went back to FruityLoops and its the bollocks for vsting :D. You have a lot of vsts out there, once you know how to go around them you can learn quite a lot.
here is an example of the TS404:

feel free to comment on this sample as personally i was quite amazed at the power a ts404 can produce. As was mentioned above, "layering is the weapon"...couldnt say it better myself.
happy vsting :)

Well, if you want the keyboard or have space restrictions the Indigo is cheaper and smaller than the Virus kc ;) |
