| hehe...well, i don't think that i am totally illiterate but i have a stupid question...i'm trying to help my friend out with his homework and it says to list three isp's and talk about their services...now my understanding of isp's is that they are internet service providers, like aol, netzero, juno, etc...but the stuff they're studying leading into this assignment is for web hosting providers, so can isp's also be those sites that does web hosting and domain name registration, etc?...please help...i know there are mad smart computer peeps here...thanks..jp |

ill help the best i can, i understand that isp's provide webspace for all its users! not like places like geocites and angelfire where they help u and explain html and stuff, but isps when u sign up for there internet will provide u with like 10mgs of webspace that u access from an ftp. this webspace can be used for nething and most the time is for storage of example sigs for this site! isps can host webpages and stuff but u have to make it all and upload it all from ftp, all they provide is the space. im pretty sure that they dont reg domain names and get heavy into webpage hosting, all they do is provide a little online space for all its customers! hope thats a help! sorry if im wrong but im sure im on the right lines!!

| thanks coup...i think your right about isp's...thats what i thought they were also but my friend's damn assignment is suggesting otherwise so i am just going with what you said and that is what i think is correct as well...thanks...jp |

what the hell is that saying isps are then? alot of school text is wrong neway, not saying i no more than school, but alot of text ive bene given in the past ive proved to be totally wrong in minutes and pissed off the teachers! lol!!

lol...no good! I got on fine today with my customers, so I had quite the opposite day! I know what you mean day, those real tiresome days happen to the best of us :) Unfortunately at the moment our damn mail server is down, affecting thousands of people!...lol Glad I'm not working tonight ;) |
