i was just wondering what port the laptop is supposed to have to be able to hook up dj equipment to it. I am soon planning to buy two turntables and a mixer and i heard that some people also have laptops they hook up their equipment to...is this true? someone please fill me in :D
thx ;)

yes, people hookup laptops and PCs to their equipment, but it is kind of useless if u arent gonna be recording anything. You put one of the outputs of the mixer, in the input on the soundcard of your laptop. Mixers usually have several outputs, so you can hook one output up to your laptop, and still ahve a spare one for you amp or whatever you got. good luck.

many thanks :)
i'm definitely planning to record mixes and whatnot and was thinking of getting an IBM thinkpad G series or something...does this laptop come with the required soundcard and does the Stanton Platinum pack seem like a good choice to go with? I heard it was well worth the price and the equipment is worth it...what do you guys think? :tongue3

I have an IBM ThinkPad A Series with a 500 Mhz processor and Windows 98 SE. I bought it on August 2000. I can record every sound from the line-in port and even the sounds generated by programs such as VTT or Fruity Loops witout missing sound data. IBM's are very solid systems with high quality accesories... Even there aren't the most beautiful laps. I love my Thinkpad and I highly recommend these laps.
