I play trance and hardhouse mainly. |

personally just do it for my personal pleasure.
The DJz that I do know and play at the local partiez/clubz (NYC), are involved in so many soap operaesque crap that I wouldn't even want to bother. The fun of DJin is lost when the pleasure becomes business (my personal view of it)

Hey SYNth...knowing ur from NY & readin ur last post here...it soundz a lot like ur friends with the same DJs I am. So frickin true...all the drama. U go to Limelight or any other electro/trance clubs? Also, which DJs do u know? I DJ as well (DJ Garion). I've done a rave (private party....'bout 100 large), & a guest spot @ 2 fetish parties...so far. Still workin the beatmatchin skillz. Anywayz....

[edit] the last time I went to Limelight was for the Gatecrasher party was gonna go on New Yearz Eve, but just wanted to relax and not do anything (hanging out getting piss drunk and Kd is better than an evil church anyday)[/edit]

No....I didn't go to that event. I'm always @ the Limelight on sat night though. It's become a personal mission to me to.....enhance the trance...so to speak. I "donate" a lot of music to the DJs there..hehe ;)

don't get me wrong...itz hell of ride..spinning where you know 1000+ ppl are dancing away to the s**t you put out...
amazing to watch just headz goin up and down and lightz flashing everywhere while you spin a phat tale with your recordz...
ah well..but, I just can't stand politicizing something that has become one of my fav. past timez (sex being the other ..;) )

I don't know the DJs of the main floor man...sorry. Seems to me that they often have different DJs though. The one DJ who spins trance in the Geiger room though is DJ Rexx Arkana, but he isn't known for trance but rather for the great blend of electro/trance he brings to the party.

BTW...doesn't anyone know that song I asked about a week ago. The one with the Al Pacino sample from Devils Advocate. The song is so popular...cmon now. |

I DJ mostly for myself but I've played a few gigs and I'm going to be doing something at Surrey University, Guildford, UK - if I'm extremely lucky, I'll end up supporting Okenfold.
I play Trance, House and anything a bit harder. |

I DJ mainly private bash's (for friends n stuff) and i also play sometimes @ Jungle in chesterfield (well.. twice so far :) ) I do a lot of mix tapes for friends as well, but i mainly just do it for my own pleasure. When im good enuff ill hit the crowdz as much as possible!
I play mad types of progressive (almost percussive), Bangin hard trance (bangin bein the operative word) and when it gets to late late (sometimes goin thru to early...) sets it has just got to be weird f**ked up hard house!!
It annoys me sooo much the so-called DJ's in the bars n stuff where i live, they dont disc jockey, they play tunes. And e tunes at that!! A real DJ needs to do some form of mixin else theres no point in calling urself a DJ... |

No residency yet, but working on it ... I play mostly raver-ish clubnights, and raves from time to time (parties here are on backburner right now) ... I don't want to take my sound to more mainstream venues - not that they'd let me anyway, 'coz it is too dark / brained / sinister for a standard club - so I stick with the underground stuffs, small-ish parties, good vibe, awesome party kids.
And yes, what SYNthSRI said is absolutely true ... nothing beats seing a room full of people just going off to the tunes you put on - having that many people under your (musical) control is such a rush ... once a bedroom jock experiences that, there is no going back ! |
