WEIRDO - PHOTIC ZONE
OK where do I start?......
yes it's an older track
From the very first beat I can tell that there is a certain quality to this piece.
Knowing this song I know that it is one of the most unique tracks ever produced.
It starts off like any other with a nice popping beat. beat... base line... beat... base line... (that’s the best I can describe it)
Then come a little rhythmic melody beat followed by some high hats of some sort followed by a hollow sounding bit.
Then comes a repetitive sound that fits well with the current sounds after a semi build up of course.
At the next transition is a fairly dark sounding synth followed by a nice blend of bass beats and melody overlap. a vibrating overlap.
All of a sudden a pitch change keeping the current sounds consistent.
Following some really serious beats is a really excellent mini build up.
Enters some dirty sounding I don’t know what the hell, but this track keeps getting weirder anyhow.
So far to me the melody is amazing and I know this song is only going to get better. Not to mention the sick beats that are in place.
The sounds in this song of are a quality that is not common to most electronic music these days. its really goooood.
......now it’s starting to get a bit dark and dirty with these crazy sounds.
......nice pitch change but keeps going.
I notice that this song is pretty much a constant built up until it all comes together at its peak at which point it gets really dirty.
- at about half way through this song comes a 10-12 sec breakdown at which point a vibrating melody comes in and takes over the song. Up and down up and down up and down.
Then a pitch change again - and it keeps building up. Up and up it goes until the most serious of break downs.
This break down is really evil and there is no fooling around by this artist... not wasting any time, it comes right back in vicious as hell with almost a completely new melody (if you can call it that)
At this point all hell breaks loose and this song continues on with all sorts of crazyness.
This track is amazingly serious... it’s as intricate as psychedelic trance, yet bouncy as funk.
If you like this track, I recommend:
Weirdo - Vinyl Warning (fairly old, 99/00ish)
Weirdo - The Other Side (fairly new, maybe 1 year max)
These tracks are also as intricate as psy trance but melodic as epic. |

| It's an OK track, but nothing spectacular. Maybe I need to hit a bong load to appreciate it better. |
