Yeah, but Britney, Madonna and Christina are "HOT" so they don't have to have any talent or credibility. At least that's the message I get from the thousands of horny desperate guys who drool and obsess mindlessly over them, usually turning off all the real girls around them.
Pop culture. :rolleyes: If you get all hot and bothered by that kind of B.S. that they did solely for publicity (and possibly money), then you better stop thinking of yourself as so much better than the ones who actually listen to their music. At least those horny desperate guys have an excuse to obsess over them! How ing stupid is it that older guys make fun of the "teeny boppers" who listen to boy bands and watch teen movies, while at the same time behaving like this toward the talentless female idols.
I've got nothing against Justin, I mean he's a tool but half the guys I know are tools, especially the ones that go nuts every time one chick gets within 3 inches of another chick. Show some restraint! |

| please other than coldplay...this menage a trois was the highlight of the show...if i see any more crappy rappers getting awards for how you want to get in on at the club and then showing their "bling bling" on the stage for the world to see...the movie awards were way better... they should have put a good rapper on stage like missy elliot. Now that would have been a good show! Oh and I think Beyonce is trying to get a bigger booty than J-Ho. |

No, it doesn't do anything for me, in fact, i think it's quite pathetic. Watch the video, what a ing joke. How much are they paying the crowd to act like they are into that horrible horrible track (like a virgin).
The words to properly describe the situation escape me at the moment, but I find it sad that the "big time" music industry in america is driven by "trendy" sex appeal. :nervous: :nervous: :nervous: It's like watching wrestling, only at least they spare you from the horrible mash-up they like to call music at MTV during those fake ass WWF matches. MTV is a stain on the music industry, along with all the artists that are alongside it supporting it's actions. |

That's exactly it, man... at least with wrestling, you know it's fake, it's supposed to be fake, that's sort of the whole idea of it. So it's not so damn painful to watch.
These pop stars actually consider themselves artists... to be honest I'd rather hear the pro wrestlers sing. :D :haha: (if any of you have been around long enough to hear those songs, OH MY GOD they're sad...) |

Your post reminds me.....did they actually do this year's show live or was it taped and then packaged as live a few days later?
They used to do that with all of their awards shows on MTV. They can't hire decent live TV producers so they tape it and edit where they want.
I don't know that I have even turned my tv to MTV in years, so I have no idea what goes on.
