How does a synth Rack Work, what I mean is how is it played?

a rack synth has a midi in-put
It reacts to notes it receives through that input on channels that the synth is set to react to.
Midi notes can come from a sequencer, or from a midi keyboard, or anything that sends midi notes. |

Or more simply put, you plug a keyboard into it.
If you have a nord lead rack, go get yourself a midi controller. I have an Evolution MK-249c which does the job. To hook it all up with your computer, you will need a midi interface. M-audio make some nice ones. Just a simple midisport 2x2 will do you fine. Then a midi sequencer porgram like Cubase or Logic to sequence the synth with the rest of your channels of audio to create a song. |

a nord lead has keys. a nord rack doesn't. A nord lead rack doesn't exist.
Therefore, no extra keyboard is needed, you can hook midi out of your nord lead to midi in of the virus rack. |
