Well I went to guitar center today to check out the Technics 1200MK2 and M3D that I am consider buying. THe salesperson said that Technics is no longer producing the Mk2 or the M3D. I haven't had much luck finding the M3D on the internet from a reliable online store. If I hold back on buyin my tables for a few months, how long will the supply of MK2's last??

Also do the MK2's come with slipmats?

The mk2's are still made, but harder to find (as most yuppies want the new decks now). The M3d's have been replaced by the MK5 (it's the same deck, not to be confounded with the m5g).

So if you really want an "m3d" go for the mk5.
MK2's come with rubber anti static mats. Those are made for hifi play, and are not for dj'ing. If you get some mk2's you need to get apart slipmats (unless the shop already gives them away as a promotion). But slipmats really cost nothing, so don't worry there.
