How can u say that ?
The XML coding and all the TXT HISTORY are so much better than the one ICQ did... or whatever
Anyway i like it alot, and really looking forward to version 2.
I just don't know if I should try the beta... I am affraid it will ruin the settings i have
Do u guys know if i can install it but still keep the old copy as a backup ? |

I can't see how it could be classified as horribly coded... the problem I see with Trillian is that the programmers don't keep the feature set up-to-date with the IM programs it supports - i.e. doesn't support server-side ICQ contact lists, voice, new MSN protocol, has sketchy file transfers, etc.
It's a very well-designed and stable program though, far better than the regular MSN or ICQ clients. I just don't think that it's worth paying for when there are other alternatives, such as Miranda, that are more up-to-date, have more features, and best of all are open-source.
Having said that, anyone who says that Trillian is crap when comparing it to the standard MSN or ICQ clients, needs to have their head examined. Perhaps these people just didn't take enough time to set it up properly? I see this a lot, because it's not "easy" enough (or as many girls put it, pretty enough... *sigh*)
Chook, just install the beta to a different directory, you can keep your old settings. |

I thought about installing it to a diffrent directroy, i just wanted to ask first.
Now i will do that, and i hope everything will b ok.
The 2.0 sounds like a very good program... Finnaly all the small bugs were fix
(maybe more than just "small" ones... but i still preferd it) |
