What is a good Video Studio Software??

Hey all,
Im planning to design a video (theme video) for my car club Beastclub (www.beastclub.com.au)
i am planning to have some of my members cruising and showing off thios that u know,
im going to record them and then save them to pc, and i want to create like a sick theme video.
I dont know what a good video software is though,..
What is a good video editing and or mastering software, where i can mix music behind the scenes, blend clips, add catch and sick text sliding in from one side to another and then also all sorts of other sick effects if so,,..
Is there something that can do the above features or something close to or better that you know of?
Can you please help me find something relevant..

Adobe Premiere can do much of what I think you are talking about. especially with After Effects Added in.
It is kind of pricy tho.
I don't know any of the other PC video editing apps that are any good and work on most machines. (Avid stuff only works on a few specific certified machines)
If you have access to a newer powermac and have a little dough to spend, FinalCutPro is a very nice program that does everything under the sun when it comes to DV editing. It is $999 US so it ain't cheap.
Of course, you might try iMovie on that mac if you have access to it. I have found it works very well for a piece of free software. The audio editing would really have to be done in another program but you could easily paste it in and timecode match it.

| Adobe Permiere all the way, extremely easy to use etc.. if you're planning on doing this more often don't hesitate and go to the nearest shop. You get a lot of extras with it too. |
