A technical question

Ok...
Now I want to rename all my files so that they actually look normal rather than the 01_magik7_djtiesto_live_.mp3
So I go into the my directory and change it to
DJ Tiesto Live @ Magik7.mp3
Why is it that whenever I add the file into winamp that it comes out looking like this...
dj tiesto LIVE @ Magik 7 www.ihatetheselabels.com
Can someone tell me how to change winamp so that it gives out the file name that I actually assign to the file?

hehe:) thats the ID3 tag! play the file in winamp, right click on it and it will say "file info" hit that and u'll see the tag with loads of info in it, that should sort it

yah thats it
but man tell me, if the tag editor says "canot change tag the file is read only" what can you do with that????
because I have buntch of files that I cant change the tags on and it rely pieses me off.

| select all the files that are read only, then right click on them and click properties. then uncheck the read only box. :) |

hmmm
...there's also an option (in-case there is no id3 present) in winamp to convert "_" to spaces!!
do right click --> options --> preferences --> options --> convert underscore to space in titles
u can get to preferences quickly by CTRL+P :)
if a mp3 doesn't have id3, winamp will show the filename (minus the extension) by default...also you can select to change "%20" to space because some systems don't allow spaces in directories/filenames and use "%20" instead...you may notice files with that in their names that you download!!

since we're on the topic of id3 tags... does anyone know a good program to change mass id3 tags
like i want to change all my tags to be the lowercase version of the song title, then vice versa so they match...
i had a good program called tag & rename but its lame shareware and expired... and i cant find a crack :(
anyone else got some ideas? |

| I used to have a very good program for chaning mass ID3 tags but I lost it all I can remember is that the logo was like the Winamp bolt but green. Ill see if I can find it for ya |

This is the program that I used. It has alot of features it did everything that I needed it to do.
