the Kosheen Sellout

(sorry if this has already been mentioned)

How horrible is Kosheen's new track "all in my head"? Oh my god, awful, awful, awful pop crap. They blatantly changed their sound (darker, electronic driven tracks to tacky guitar-esque pop hits) and their look (re: video), and I was wondering what you guys thought about the whole thing.

Being the Kosheen fan that I am (was), I'm just pissed off about this new direction they are going in. Apparently the money root.

P.S The remixes aren't bad, but imo aren't anything special either.

comments?

Kosheen is too rich to care. They are technically a bristol based trio who made average drum n bass then john creamer made that bootleg and they went huge.

Anybody ever heard Kosheen - Hide U over Flight 643? I found the mp3 by accident..very interesting, and quite cool.

I like the Kosheen vocal sound...I guess the "poppy" direction is what they chose.

How come everytime someone wants to make popular music it's always equated with selling out? Selling out to whom? Themselves? Giving into to mass comsumerism?

I think it has to do with the self-proclaimed elitism that electronic dance music has always taken pride in. Personally, I've always liked Kosheen, and I'll continue to like them as long as they keep making great music.

...and if they want to increase their fanbase while becoming more successful at the same time? So be it.

In that respect, selling out could be equated with ambition.

In all honesty, I haven't heard it.

...but I think Kosheen is great.

I just think it's a little unfair to equate popular music with = lesser quality. I still think BT is an brilliant musician/producer even though he's produced N'Sync.
