I am new to making trance music and dream style rave ,I am using Absynth and a sequencer
my question is what would be my best bet on making Trance style melodies,Chords, and pads in Absynth also where would I begin to make some wicked leads? by using Absynth
I don't want to copy anyone if someone could just tell me how to get started in the right direction to make a rough trance patch etc.
Like something youd hear in a Nyc underground club or
on one of these cds Like Tranzworld you can listen to some clips here of what im talking about

If Absynth isn't really for Trance would you recommend Fruity Loops Studio ? As I really did not like Reason |

How bout buying a 2nd hand , rather cheap hw synth ,(virtual) analog of course. jp8000/8080, an1x, nordlead, virus a, novation nova. They don't crash as much as your warez and you can turn cutoff and resonance together + you've got something to show if you do a live set. |

IMO Absynth can do all the sounds you might need for a trance track (except the percussion). Don't be put off by the presets that focus on the weirder or more rhythmic sounds it can generate.
Sorry if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you don't have much of a clue about programming synths. If this is the case, Absynth isn't the easiest place to learn (but, saying that, it's not the most difficult either).
Read some guides on subtractive synthesis to grasp the basics, read the Absynth manual, and spend hours playing with the software and sounds. |
