| Hey, let's say you have an a capella, and want to mix it with a beat. But the beat is way faster. How do you guys alter the tempos ? I've been trying like mad but nothing seems to do the job =[ |

since you don't know how to "alter the tempos" i guess you aren't using turntables and you want to mix mp3s or wave files.
if you want to do it live in real-time try software-dj tools like bpm-studio, traktor, mixmeister etc.
or buy an audio editor like Cool Edit / Adobe Audition (www.syntrillium.com) or Pro Tools (www.digidesign.com) or download the free version of Pro Tools here. |

No it's not to mix mp3's. I got an accapella from a band that lives near my house, I asked if I could do a trance remix of it. So they sang it, gave me a couple of guitar samples too. But they're too slow, I'll try cooledit, to speed them up.
Thanks |

| Downloaded the demo, doesn't seem to have that feature ? Can someone tell me exactly how to do it ? |

cool edit:
press transform -> time/pitch -> stretch, select "constant stretch" and "high precision". if the acapella is just a bit too slow, select "resample" and alter the tempo by changing the "ratio"; to speed it up 5% set it to 95%, to slow it down 5% set it to 105% exc.
if the acapella is way too slow select "time stretch" instead of "resample" and set it to for example 105% to speed it up 5%.
resample will sound better, but it raises the pitch, with time stretch the pitch will be the same as the original sample.
hope this helps... |

| If you are using some mp3 mixer, change the pitch and this is it..this is what I use :) |
