I'm from Maryland (usually go to DC and NYC shows), and I'm going to be in Seattle from the 18th (next wed) until the 25th. Is there anything going on in the city that would be worth going to?? I'll also be travelling alone, so I'm looking for some chill clubs / bars in which to hang out after-hours. I've heard a lot of good things about Seattle, and I'm looking forward to the trip...

check out nwtekno.org. Usually has the majority of things going on in the electronica scene. Also....I've introduced many out of state people to seattle. If you are looking for a tour guide for a day or two or a week lemme know! Love showin peeps around, where to go, and where not to go and stuff. :eyes:

I just want to thank VonDewey and all the other people I met in and around Seattle for making my "business" trip far, far more enjoyable than it should have been. I will def be out again before long...:D

I swear, I am NOT getting my fix since I relocated to PDX.... Headed up to Vancouver (BC, not WA) in September to see AvB, but nada since then.. I guess living in Toronto really wasn't so bad, I swear there was a big DJ in town every weekend..

So where exactly would a TA go in PDX anyway????? I keep checking nwtekno but it seems like the only dj's in the area spin jungle..

You shouldn't go to a party only to see big DJs. In my experience, at least, most local DJs are incredibly good. At each Trance party I've been to, the locals have blown the headliners out of the water (hell, the local DJ was even better than Carl Cox).

I spent NYE at an all-local party, and it was awesome. No offense, but if it's knowing that someone famous is behind a decks that makes it exciting for you, then that's kinda... eh. It should be about what's coming out of the speakers, the atmosphere of the club, the clubbers/ravers, not just one person that make a party good.

i prefer the atmosphere that big dj's seem to produce.. did a lot of clubbing when i lived in switzerland, and just got used to massive parties.. it's hard to get that atmosphere from a local dj spinning in a small club for under a hundred diehards.. like, this weekend, i went to see a few locals spin deep house @ pala.. it's good for a change of pace, and the crowd was there for the right reasons, but i just prefer massives

I have a friend who is flying up to Seattle this weekend. Any good parties this weekend there for me to suggest to her?
