ttx's are $350, 1200's are $500. so 2 ttx's = $700, 2 1200's = $1000. that is not "practically the same price" unless you are retarded, which from the sound of it you may very well be.

You can easily get Tech 12s (M3Ds or MK2s) for $400 and the normal price for a TTX1 is also $400. If you know people you can get the Techs for ~$350 and the TTX1s for the same price (I payed $360 a peice for mine and a friend payed $350 a peice for his techs). I haven't used any of the Stanton tables (besides very cheap ones) so I can't comment on their quality and such. I personally don't like the PDX-2000 and if I remember correctly it's in the same area pricewise as the TTX1 and Techs.

i've never seen 1200's for $400 except for on ebay. plz paste a link. heres the ttx1 for $325:

http://store.yahoo.com/djtronix/nuttprotuopb.html

and technics 1200's for $460:
http://store.yahoo.com/djtronix/teslblfrsh.html

lets see here... $650 for ttx's or $920 for technics

so i was off by a few bucks. those are hardly "ed up" facts.

First of all, the TTX you posted for $325 is an openbox/ DEMO unit.

etronics.com - both mk2 and m3d for $389
upstairsrecords.com - both mk2 and m3d for $395.
musiciansfriend.com has m3d for $399

and the list goes on and on.

hey thanks for the sites. i didn't know you could get 1200's for so cheap. well after knowing this why WOULDNT someone get the technics??

Some people, such as myself, prefer the TTX1s (or maybe even the stantons) to the Tech 12s. I own a Tech 12 too and will eventually pickup a second one so I can stay used to those while getting to use my prefered table at home and to record mixes.

I pickup all my equpiment at my local Guitar Center because I have a couple friends that work there and the advertised price there is always $399 for Tech 12 M3Ds. It used to be $499 but within the past year the price was lowered.

you can definitly get 1200s for $400 new, they arent the mk5s but you can get mk2s. im not bashing any other table, but i really love my 1200 m3ds. and i know DJ Kilmore (my fav scratch DJ) uses 1200s.

I've settled on the Stanton ST-100's and SMX401 3-channel mixer. I've already got the mixer, but the t/t's have been on b/o for a couple of weeks now and I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on them. I had originally decided on the Technic 1200's but I figured for the first go 'round these should be more than adequate and I should get at least 2-3 years of hard use before going with the 1200's. But then again, I may be quite pleased with these units and see no need to but get the latest model when the time comes.

Even though it's all "said and done", thoughts anyone?

If it makes any difference, I'll be mixing mostly trance and hard-house.

Ok, now imagine i get the stanton str8 150 20 years passed it works perfectly, will it beat the techs 1200's? Since, the whole thing about the techs is about wich deck last longer etc... etc... tell me if im rong im probably rong :conf:

just to get back to the pricing on the numark TTX1 i found an online store that is selling those for 399.99 for one turntables...now the same online store is selling Technic SL-1200MK5 for an undisclosed price....says you have to call to find out....so i called cause i was courious.....and because im new and im shoping around for equipment before i dive in....anyway
the price for the Technics were the exact same price as were for the TTX1 399.99 per tables....now i dont understand....
the only real reason i have heard people say they stand beside technics is because they are industry standerd....but if your willing to pay that much for a technic table...why not just go for the numark which as more features too it....
i know im convinced....
i was about to buy Technics...but now i think im gonna go with numarks just because of that....so what if they are not the industry standerd....
i would rather have more features then a more sturdy table...
its not like im going to be throwing the thing around my living room....
if im going to use a table for scratching im also going to buy a table that is just for scratching....
but thats my opion from a newbie that just been reading the topics to this board for one day....
man its amazing what i have learned for just looking around this forum....
