anyway i use 1024X768 on my 17 inch screen... and its the best resolution.
The last site i build, i only took care of 800X600 - 1024X768
640X480 died.. and aboce... well oops. but then i fix it by allowing all the above resolution to see the page... |

He's right, this is a legit resolution, what I run my 17" at as 1600x1200 is a bit too small
*waits to get 19"* :D |

it actually depends on how bug your monitor is and your video card.. also on personal preference and what looks better.
1024x 768 is probably gonna be the most common, but if you have a huge monitor you might want to up it. |
yeah, i got that cos my monitor is 14 or 15", old as cos i only got a baseunit when i upgraded due to financeial restraints, so this is as much as my spec will take |

| side note: around with the refresh rate, because I have weird awesome vision, and the screen wavers and looks like water is splashing into the screen like ripples when the refresh is off. No one else can see it, but its like my eyes are vid cams looking at the damn monitor. if your eyes hurt turn it to a healthier number 75ish usually works pretty well. anything below 70 tends to be jerky and ty |

same here dude, specially w/ an all white background... refresh rate needs to be 75+ or it bugs the hell outta my eyes |

1600x1200 is what reso. i run my 19" monitor in. I really want to get one of those newer hitachi CRT flatscreen 19" monitors cos the color control on them is ING SWEET AS HELL OMG I DIE BLA BLA DLFJSDF:EKRLW:LUZ?DAEWQ:EA?SDM?ASDM>... no seriously they ROCK!!! they have like a .22 dot pitch and 2048x1536 (at a fairly decent refresh rate, i think >75 hz) maximum reso IIRC. The real killer is they support 10000K colors (white is a lot more intense etc.) vs. your typical 9700K monitor, it's a world of difference. makes me go goo goo ga ga, and they are only like 220 USD... the 21" is a bit more spendy
right now i have 2 refurbished hitachi CM751 19" monitors with 1600x1200@75hz as maximum reso/refresh rate. They have a dot pitch of .22 so everything is pretty damn sharp on them but they are getting old and the brightness controls are fading, everything is a lot less intense/vivid than it used to be =(. Not bad for monitors that are like over 10 years old though =)
EDIT: sorry i got carried away.. the really sweet monitors aren't manufactured by hitachi, i think samsung makes them.. i can't remember. |
