I've finally got enough money to afford either a Virus C or a Nord 3
Given that I produce trance, which should I spend my hard earned dosh on ? |

| depends how much you are paying for them. i would go a virus over a nord any day, and I did, but that's me. |

| If you can afford a virus, then it's the obvious choice. Can't really compare the two, the virus is a beast and is 16 parts whereas the nord is only 4 parts (if i recall right). |

| For a first synth I think the Virus is the better choice, as it has more voices and more parts and sounds sweet as well:D I wouldn't dismiss the nord completely though. It offers 5 voice unison without losing polyphony, so you're left with 24 very fat voices. You quickly lose voices on the Virus if you start to use a lot of unison. You can also record, so if you can work around the difference in parts and voices, I think your preferred sound should be the deciding factor. |

I have a nord 2 in the studio and I can say that I would rather go for a virus than the nord, the nord can create some nice pads but that's it, I think it's a bit over-rated actually
so go for the virus! |
