DJ Magazine is now taking your vote for the Top 100 DJs of 2003! Log on to www.djmag.com and make your voice heard! 2002 was the year of Tiesto...who will be King Of The DJs this year?

Markus Schulz opens up the Broadcast! As he does each week, Markus opens uo the show with the essentials. These are the biggest and best tracks gracing turntables of djs worldwide. Be sure to tune in to hear what's new before your weekly record shopping trip.

Deep Dish rejoins the Broadcast! Bureaucracy is one of Washington's greatest exports. Deep Dish is another, two young men who cut through the red tape and mediocrity of the underground with the sharpest of knives.

Before Deep Dish became world-wide dance music sensations, before the main stream recognition that has garnered them a Grammy Award and more, and even before they gave birth to their world renowned record label Yooshi, Deep Dish were working hard to stake their claim in the world of dance music.

'Penetrate Deeper', their newest release, represents the early days of Deep Dish and the then fledgling Deep Dish Records. The now classic compilation features the first four original Deep Dish Records releases ('A Feeling', 'The Moment of Truth', 'Relativity', and 'Lonely Winter') along side the pivotal Quench and Special Remix of Naomi Daniel's 'Feel the Fire', produced for their long-time mate, Detroit's Carl Craig. Two additional compositions complete the picture - the lush, orchestrated Elastic Reality, and 'The Dream' by Prana - the apex of Deep Dish's career at that point. After listening to these works, it become clear that, even at that early stage in their career, Dubfire and Sharam had tapped into a chemistry and bond that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Filterheadz make their debut on the Broadcast! On returning from Ibiza in September 2000 brothers Bert and Maarten Wilmaers felt it was time for a change. Having produced disco-house under various project names until then they decide to take on a more tribal and progressive direction.

Influenced by long time heroes Deep Dish and Paul Van Dyk they embarked on their first project: a remix of Minimalistix - Struggle for Pleasure. In a short space of time the remix was picked up by leading DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Jimmy Van M & Dave Seaman to name but a few. The Filterheadz sound was born.

Soon remix requests from UK labels such as Hooj Choons, Nebula, Deviant and Platipus were coming in. Hailed by various magazines as ‘the one to watch’ the name Filterheadz became the insiders tip for class A remixes and productions.

In the mean time Filterheadz started to collaborate with tech house aces Zzino and Tomaz. With this we also see the heavier Techno side of Filterheadz. Their first track, Zzino vs Filterheadz - Corrador is a huge techno stomper that gets a wicked response from Techno DJ’s as well as progressive spinners. With Tomaz they produce ‘More House’. This is another tribal monster, which gets picked up by Seb Fontaines label Spot On. The following Latin Loopworks EP became one of the most popular techno tracks of 2001 and was featured on dozens of compilation albums worldwide.

Since then The Filterheadz have progressed much further with loads of high profile material and remixes currently out and some phenomenal new tracks coming soon.

The Filterheadz amazing productions allows them to cross musical boundaries. You see crowds go wild in house, progressive, trance and techno clubs to the same tracks. It is this ability which will take The Filterheadz to the elite next level.
