Hi guys,

Ok, I am using Roxio easy cd creator 5. Every single damn time I burn a CD I get these 3 errors.
1-E80041838-Write Error-0310400
2-E80041899-Write Error buffer underrun occured-06/C5/00
3-E80041925-Track Write error-Command retry failed- t7118.

It's pissing me off, I have ruined 6 cd's. :whip: :whip: :whip:
I am recording at only 16x, if I drop it to 8x, it records fine. But why should I have to go down to 8?! I also get the same error when using the CD copier option. I have "buffer underrun prevention" box checked in the options, and I am using Windows XP.

Any ideas?

Emil

Your CD Reader is not fast enough to keep up with the burner- which mode do you have the IDE Controller set to?
A lot of the time W2k and XP users are defaulted to PIO mode -
If you go into Device Manager - (Right Click MY Computer-Properties)
go to the IDE-ATAPI place and again right click properties on both the primary and secondary- Make sure they're all set to DMA or UDMA-
If they already are then you just need to buy a faster CD Rom Reader.

I was having a whole assload of problems with my computer these past few months, all sorts of things I would have never thought were related, including similar problems with my cd-burner.
I tried everything to no avail...then finally I realized, what's the one part everything on your computer runs through? the motherboard...my motherboard is an Intel, so I went to the Intel website download/support section, looked up drivers for my model, downloaded every single driver update and installed them...bada-bing, my computer works perfectly now. :)

When mine burns cd's it starts to growl at me and and then says server focus error and ruins the cd so i use another one and i just use mp3 player holds more songs and no more burning cds and growling

Roxio easy cd creator 5 is the problem. you should try nero, much better program and not as bloated. i have been using it since 2000.

I've been having problems with my burner too. Its an old yamaha 8x8x24. I've been trying to burn mp3 for my car HU and it does fine with R but RW it screws up halfway through and then refuses to recognize the media to erase or re-write over it. Maybe its just a bad media but I've wasted 3hrs screwing around.:whip:
