No it won't be!

smoking bans in clubs is one of the worst things ever.

I felt the same way, I'm a non-smoker and hate coming home smelling like smoke.. but you'll soon realize the people who smoke are a very large portion of what keeps bars/clubs going!!

Since the end of July here in Buffalo when a smoking ban in bars/clubs went into effect it's hurt EVERYTHING. Most places have started to lose a lot of money due to lost business, numbers of people going out has dropped, and the places that do have patios for smoking only have the patios filled, noone cares about being inside.

The initial effect is horrible, so maybe rumors of the Guv being sold because of the no smoking thing could have some sort of truth - if I owned a bar and saw a law like that coming I'd try and get out of the business as well.

its been in effect here for two years now and everything seems to be settling back to normal. people will adjust and so will the clubs. its not like smokers will stop going to clubs all together. but you are right about patios they will be full. and its alot tougher up here with such a harsh winter

OR, they better have some sort of designated smoking areas...unless i quit..............................they better have some designated smoking areas :whip:

I do agree that they should ban smoking in clubs, but I also think they should have big, ventilated smoker friendly areas. Kind of hard for smokers to go 8 hours without smoking.
Rev. Paroxyzm
Yay! no more stinky or burned shirts!
lol

I honestly don't see banning smoking inside clubs as changing anything smoke wise, on account of how many clubs have those damn machines.

IF this happens (which I doubt but you never know), it will SUCK. Will be entirely corporatized, worse than how it is now (at least I think so...with an mainstream entertainment company controlling things)? Hmmmz.

I'm really not that worrried about any of this, If the guv gets sold, oh well, and if it starts to suck oh well, someone will come along with a billion dollars and build a better party house.

It's the way the river of competition flows. :)

And as for smoking, I'm a smoker and I agree with the ban, cause second hand smoke kills, and I'd rather not be a muderer. But if a ban came into affect, they should have a patio so we can smoke, (like the guv). And it's true about hurting biss. I live in a small town and the next town over made a non-smoking bylaw, and all there bars are closing up, and ours are always filled. Good for Port Hope, Bad for Cocbourg.
