Women Drivers ..plus car rant...

Ok, not meaning to offend every woman on this board, but if you witnessed what i saw today you'd def share the same opinion.

Ok, my sister phones me up and says "David i need you to collect mammy from work" David's responce: "sure, pick me up here and leave my friends home". Grand! Sorted!

On leaving one of my friends home, she decides to do what i thought was going to be a 3 point turn. But, instead, she turns in the direction of the opposite kerb (..this's usually the stage where you stop and reverse back..), instead she flies up onto the kerb which is about 7 inches off the fround, smacks the bumper, i go crazy, then smack back onto the road. after i inspected i could not see any obvious damage.

anyways, as i go to collect mammy, i notice that when i go into second gear, the car seems to struggle to rev / find any acceleration at all.

A few minutes later after i've collected mammy, i'm approaching a roundabout at about 30 - 40 mph, i start to slow down to make my approach when all of a sunnen o look at the rev counter which is sitting at 0. then i realise the car is no longer running. i panic for a sec, then on with the hazard lights and turn the ignition and away we go again.

throughout the night the car acts like a bit of a bollox, but then i leave it parked for about 1.5 hours. when i return, i start the car, and after 2 secs the feckin thing stalls. i attempt a few more times but to no avail, i try accelerate, but either nothing happens, or it goes to about 3000rpm, then back to 1000. then i get it started and let it run for about 3 mins and away we go.

anyways, i've advised both parents to take the big sis off the insurance as she's a hazard to herself, her passengers, pedestriand, and other ppl on the road. Plus she's rough as on the car.. whether this be a result of her reckless act today i dont know, but either way..

car = peugeot 307. Car's been amazing until tonight. do nothing but sing it's praise!! until tonight :(

later folks! thanks to all those who took the time to read this fun filled exciting thread!!

Women drivers, no survivors.:p

I love this thread. Here's my own little joke I love to share:

Q: Why does the average woman drive better than Helen Keller?
A: She doesn't.

(For those who do not know, Helen Keller was a blind and deaf woman).

It's actually the case that female drivers are less aware while driving than males. Their spatial reasoning ability sucks (as indicated by countless studies), they're inconsiderate due to obliviousness (as opposed to with intent, as many males), and they generally lack the situational awareness required to deftly maneuver a vehicle. This is an endless cause of pain for others :whip:

I'll be the first to admit that males are (potentially more) hazardous drivers, but that (for the most part) is of their own choosing...

I myself am none of the above :)

I so not all women are bad drivers, i know 2 of them personaly that could beat me on a track with much problem, but they could :D While having a drink with my father one day i even witnesed a women loosing her minfd after her husband has failed for the third time to park a BMW 745i in a parking palce that would be big enough for a truck, pulling him out of the car and park the car in the first try like a pro :)

However i loose any respect for a womn driver when i see her fixing her makeup or something like thet at the stop light! Thats about the only function for the rear wiev mirror they know about actualy, ecouse while driving noneof them seem to look in it :whip:

I could go on for day but im in a good mood so i wont :D

If all girls are bad drivers, the people in Belgium will be glad to hear that i didn't start driving yet :)
Guys not all girls are bad drivers, my mom drives around all day for work and she didn't have an accident yet. :tongue3 and let's hope it never happens!

sounds like you ed up the spark plugs. Have u noticed, since the engine's been running funny, that the car has been literally drinking fuel?

Hehe a lack of accidents no more makes one a good driver than a lack of prison time makes one a good person :gsmile:

And by "good driver" I don't mean the ability to press the pedal to the floor and steer around corners. I mean everything that goes with courteous precision driving: the constant acknowledgement of the position and movement (or at least existence!) of surrounding vehicles, the ability to track multiple objects simultaneously, the skill to assess rapidly unfolding situations effectively and extrapolate viable and safe trajectories for all parties...

Put a cell phone in my hand (or on a headset...) and I'm reduced to the calamitous oblivion that plagues most female drivers I know. Sadly, the remaining few who DO pay attention lack the spatial reasoning ability to make use of it:(

That's not to say that my guy friends are good drivers... some are really good, but most are bad in a different way :p

Aw come on, sure they use the rearview while driving... you've never seen one fix makeup *while* driving;)? Hehe it happens ALL the time here in the states. I've seen women with one hand on the celly, one hand on the makeup, eyes on the mirror, and driving with the knees (No joke!).

Well since you live in KC it has been a long time since you have seen a "good driver" :P
Mix the way people there drive with all the damn twisty and confusing roads and you get some high quality "bad" driving.

Of course, at least they tend to use turn signals in KC, unlike St. Louis.

wait, what is "collect mammy?" collecting your mom? interesting way to say it...

but anyway, women are not bad drivers. PEOPLE are. it doesnt matter what race/sex, every group has its share. dont be so judgmental.

My mum's a good driver :p

But when I'm going somewhere in the car and I notice someone driving badly in some way or another, and I look into the car, it does tend to be a woman usually.
