There are some people who posted their posts here that doesn't like that someone have a diffrent opinion...
just read back man, i'm not just saying it
people have called me so many names I can't even remember 10% of them just because I have a diffrent opinion!!

| In all seriousness you might want to try moving to a different location to play...where I live most peolple like the hard bangin' trance or even hip hop music. You can't make people listen to what you want to play - it's called evolution, changing times, moving on, etc., etc., etc. |

you really don't seem to have anything to add to this thread except more insults (and really bad ones at that)... you are expecting people to give you respect when you dont give them respect in return... so lose the attitude and maybe this could turn into a *gasp* intelligent conversation |

Hey Gil, I just listened to your tune, "Losing Gravity"!
It's AWESOME. Very professional, very nice!
I can tell you have a lot of experience.
I wish you and I could write a trance song together. I have some ideas, but absolutely no experience in the studio -- snares, panning, arpeggiators, effects, delays -- I've heard about them but never actually tried them. Although I do have some synth/piano experience, and musical knowledge. Man, I really wish we could write some trance together!!! I'd have a lot to learn from you. |

OK, here's a suggestion that I have for you... It may sound weird. You know how Linux was developed by programmers all over the world who communicated via e-mail and sent each other their updates?
Well, why don't we write a trance song together that way... by sending each other our ideas and music pieces? I don't have any professional equipment, only FruityLoops. But that's enough for me to send you some parts of what I have in mind, including synth/piano lines, beat structure, bassline, and maybe even some effects, so you can express your views/suggestions and maybe even make the real piece more professional and diverse... and we would send ideas back and forth via the Internet?
How would you like that, if you have some free time? Thanks & good luck. It MAY be a fun experiment -- and the first of its kind!!! Nobody has ever done it before! Another "Major League" -- only this time, a virtual one! Eh? |

I haven't read all the messages in this thread (so don't shoot me), but I agree with some of what Gil has to say. Most Goa/Psy Trance is much closer to roots of REAL trance than say the stuff Tiesto and others spin. Personally, most of what I've heard from Tiesto (mixes and cds) is a little too cheesy for me (except maybe some of his work with Gouryella). That's not really the best trance. Don't get me wrong, I like almost all styles of trance (it all has it's time and place) but most Goa/Psy Trance and stuff like Art of Trance and Platipus records is much more complicated and indepth than most Epic/Progressive Trance.
Usualy, I prefer harder trance and anything with great rolling basslines like most goa trance. Man, if you've never heard awesome goa (there's a lot of too, just like in any genre), I feel REALLY sorry for you.
