Whale song...

| I've been searching in google for samples and found out while listening to some the whales dont make the same sound (they not just change the pitch) so for the sample to work on a melody would be kinda bad. Is there a synth or presets for synths that sound similar to a whale singing, or any ideas? thanx |

Go to sea world armed with a snorkel and a mic.
Yeah, you're gonna have trouble trying to do this. You won't be able to multi-sample your whale noises. The only way you could do it (that I can think of) would be to find a plug-in that changes pitch but not speed, like a pitch-shift plug-in. Then use a sampler to play them back. Otherwise, if you load a single sample into a sampler, it will sound wrong.
Alternatively, you could try and find a synth preset that sounds like a whale. |

Fruity has a phaser preset for whale effect. If u use the right input, it can sound really good.
Im sure this is possible with any other phaser. |

hahaha, thanks, I needed that laugh.
I'm pretty sure Absynth has a preset that sounds like an Orca. I remember hearing it some time ago and it sounded pretty good. You might look into that if you have Absynth. |

| Does absynth 2 have all the same presets, or alternatively, can they be imported from one to another? I could use an orca-sound and the best I've been able to do sounds hollow. |

| On Absynth 1.3 theres a preset called The Abyss. its number 55. Thats pretty similar to the whale noises you describe. |
