On thursday night, I got the chance to meet and talk with Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. I have been wanting to do this since I was 9!! I got to meet Dave. I got to see his acoustic in-store performance where he played about 4 songs such like Policy of Truth.. and shook his hand and got an autograph on his new cd. I have out grown those days when I was a wild Depeche fan but I have to admit, Dave Gahan was a really cool person. It was great just to be there eventhough it felt awkward without ALL of the band there. Confused
When I got up to talk to Dave and get his signature, I mentioned M.I.K.E.
I asked him how he liked the idea of DJ’s remixing his songs….and he said “so great I like it a lot, I really enjoy it”….then I said, “…you should let MIKE aka PUSH/SCANNER RECORDINGS remix an album devoted to you.” He asked me who SCANNER RECORDINGS/PUSH was!! I told him briefly who the well-known Belgian producer was and how much of an influence Depehe Mode is ....well that was really it, until security started pushing me to keep the line moving and I couldn’t hear his last words. So I hope to hear a PUSH remix of Depeche Mode soon!! Wink
P.S. Too bad they wouldn’t let anyone take any pixx with him at the signing but here are pix of him doing the acoustic show… Up front...hope you enjoy.
