| Right now I'm really interested in becoming a trance dj... the thing is, i can only hear properly out of one of my ears - the other is at about 15-20% normal hearing. Yeah this really sucks and my question is if I will be able to beatmatch properly. I guess it's a given that it will be a lot tougher but will it be -impossible- for me to do? Also, do any djs use musician earplugs? I really don't wanna screw up my good ear if i end up doing this sort of thing. Thx. |

That's something to have to find out by yourself, but I think you'll be fine if you use your "good" ear hear the speaker and the other "bad" one for the headphone .
about the other thing the answer is YES some DJs use earplugs
I hope it helps and let me know if you become a dj. |

| I think you ought to be able to do it; I mean if you can listen to music comfortably despite your condition you should be able to learn beatmatching. It's just a more involved way of listening to tunes (learning to spin) IMO. |

| Get a headphone which blocks out a lot of sound, and use it on your bad ear. That would make it a fair bit easier i think. |
