Ok, I'm looking to buy some speakers, for my DJing, and I'm looking at the passive JBL 15's, and the Peavey Quadra 15's, both are between 300-350$ a peice. Anyone have any experience on which one may be better, please advise...

Look into B52 speakers - they have several models in your $ range. Blows away JBL and Peavey.

Unless I missed something, b52's are all active speakers, I'm looking for a passive speaker.

do you want them for gigs? i'd go w/ the jbl's over peavey, although peavey has been making speakers for a while as well.. i'd just listen to them at the local shop, and as long as the specs are the same, go w/ the cleanest sound.. also what kinda amp u plannin on hookin them up to? if u just want them for the home and ur tired of playing through ur computer speakers or boombox.. i'd look at monitors instead of regular speakers.. i went cheap and got some gemini speakers (i think they're 400w each and i think i can bridge 'em to get over 1000w total) but i've never had to do that, they get the job done for house parties but even then, i'd rather have spent more money and gone w/ higher quality speakers.. sometimes when i'm pushing the envelope, i feel like the bass is creeping around making the speakers spit and crackle.. so whatever u do, don't be a cheapass like me.. good luck

While B52 does amkes a few active speakers, most are passive. Check out the website.
