just wondering about a couple of things before i come over.
local phone calls, i was told these are on a timed basis from home phone's is this true? ie. longer on the phone the more you pay
(in australia is the same price no matter how long you talk)
can anyone recommend some decent dial-up isp's
is vegimite readily available? (how stereotypical of me)
any links to online supermarkets so i can see what food is available would be great
does anyone have a link to your tax rates on income?
i tried looking but couldn't find anything.
on the lingo side of things i must remember not to refer to anyone as a spunk (aussie slang for good looking) as i was told it means otherwise other there, sure would make me look like a fool.
thanks |

From my experience BTopenworld anytime is the best (maybe not price wise though)

In some supermarkets yes, try Sainsbury's (I assume the URL is www.sainsburys.co.uk)
Hope I could help a bit, I dunno about the tax part tho ;) |

i'll only use the majority of the internet to check emails(my days of mp3's are over for awhile), i didn't want to be stuck using internet cafe's.
thanks heaps for the Sainsbury link, just what i was after. |

well phone calls here are a set price PER MINUTE, so if u call someone it will always be, say 2p a minute for however long you are on the phone to.
supermarket links eh? Well I work for Tesco's which is the number one retailer in the country ;) The Link is www.tesco.com
also try www.ocado.com (or is it .co.uk) as that is the internet version of Waitrose, another supermarket.
Most big stores do Vegemite, but its a lot easier to just use Marmite.
Tax rates on income should be found here http://www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/
calling someone spunk would be like calling someone Jizz, Cum or Semen :haha: :haha: |
