yeah actuially that thread was distrubing, because i posted the same poll on another board and teh results were drastically different. this board is generally depressed but the otehr place i went (which is a club board in new york) was generally optimisitc. so what is wrong with teh population at TA? is it that the average age is younger and we are more prone to depression in the late teen years (i suppose i am an exception to this...) or does it have something to do with the general type of person who likes trance music? or have the ppl on this board been doing too much e? makes me wonder...

having been depressed for 8 years now, basically music is a way out, and maybe trance does for others what it does for me, brings out emotions, some sad, some happy, it seems to have a way of doing it all though, and maybe that is the common element in this, but tbf a lot of outlook isn't good, like me....

I'm nearly 22, have no qualifications past school @ 16, which i sat after missing 65% of the years attendance with illness, and it's been downhill since then. Losing the person who was the closest thing i had to a father, the one way out was music, shutting myself away with music, it sounds a stupid maybe, but it is the way of dealing, and I think a lot more ppl do it too, sure personally i have no feelings that things will get better, but I try. Some ppl on here i've seen go low & pull away, some I can see falling, some can't get up, and some are as happy as can be, maybe the common thing is the music involved, but who knows

or maybe swamper needs to change the black to pink :tongue2

ok so i've spouted enough cod for now

yes, looks like there's some correlation between depression and trance... but correlation doesn't mean causation... somebody should do some research...

it's like that High Fidelity quote, "are we miserable because we listen to pop music, or do we listen to pop music because we're miserable?"

life is looking up now for me, i'm nearly at the end of 14 days of solid work, of which i was doing 42 hour weeks, which was well fun

You worked 14 straight days and were only doing 42 hours a week?¿?¿?

When I was on that kind of schedule I was working 70 hours a week.

Glad I am not doing that anymore though the paychecks were nice.

Its that time of the year, most of all school meaning more u have to do

actually the less responsibility you have in life the more depressed you are USUALLY. You young uns will find that out later in life. Good responsibility though. Wife, Kids, women, friends, a GOOD job, paying bills. Yeah, youll regret not as many vacations, nights clubbing, but youll find that when you go back to it , it isnt as fun, and youd rather be at home with friends and family you care about. Be irresponsible NOW while it makes you happy, your brain will change!

its good though, it alllllll works out in the end.

cheers

Glad I am not depressed like I was a year ago, sore as all hell from a bad car accident and on a lot of vicodin, but not depressed.
