Rising Star - Touch Me Question?

Ever since I heard this track for the first time, I've been obsessed with this particular synth sound Armin is using. The sound is similar to the one used in Blue Fear. Hear's an example of the sound, so you guys know what I'm talking about :

Rising Star Synth.mp3

I've been trying to recreate this sound with every software synth imaginable, but I haven't succeed. Does someone has an idea on what softsynth to use, to recreate this sound? I would very much like to use this synth in a future track.

thanx,
:)

I think most synths would be capable of something at least a bit like that. Here's the first three things I would think of trying:

1) Use Saw waveforms on whatever synth you've got
2) Use a standard low-pass filter, turned down a bit to reduce the "buzz" from the Saw waveforms
3) Use an LFO to modulate the pitch to produce a vibrato effect

Ok, thanx for the tips. I've tried to recreate the sound of Armin's track Blue Fear. Here's an example:

Blue Fear

I'm not quite satisfied with the results. I created the synth with Reason's Subtractor, but it still sounds kinda static. I've tried adding reverb, flanger/chorus and eq-ing a bit, but it doesn't help that much.

Well, at least it's a start...

it'äs a good start but the problem right now is that the sounds is to "crystal-like"
you must get the sound more fat around the mids (not fat as majestic but more like chubby, hard to explain sounds but that's the closest I can explain it too) :p

I'm gonna sit down and have a try myself so stay tuned :)

okay I've come pretty close just using the subtractor and my basic knowledge of synthprogramming :)

>>>Download my example<<<

I didn't bother to convert it to mp3 coz it's only a size of 4 mb :)

if there's interest I can write a little tutorial on how I did it, might be good for thoose that want to learn more about synthprogramming :)
well anyway just tell me if ya wan't the tutorial :)

Yeah, I'm interested in the tutorial too. I've been fiddling around with the settings too, but I haven't succeeded yet unfortunately.

well the tutorial should at least apply for any subtractive synth's but it will probably work for all synth's with an LFO :p:)

well then I'm gonna start writing the tutorial tomorrow after school :)

shouldn't take that long :)

I was just wondering if you were gonna complete the tutorial any time soon? I'm really interested in it!

thanx in advance
