| As I am stuck at home with chicken pox (at a ripe age of 24), I wonder how many TA's have had chicken pox before? |

You get itchy rash and have to stay at home for a week. Other than that it's not too bad. ;) |

I had it, so I am told, when I was 2.
Apparently it is more dangerous the older you are when you get it.

Correct.
Chicken pox is a viral infection; however, the virus in question, varicella zoster virus, causes a more serious condition, shingles, in adults, described as "An acute viral infection characterized by inflammation of the sensory ganglia of certain spinal or cranial nerves and the eruption of vesicles along the affected nerve path. It usually strikes only one side of the body and is often accompanied by severe neuralgia."
So you don't want chicken pox when you're older. I haven't had it myself (I'm 18) nor has my brother or my mother. Consequently we all got vaccinated this year. Ha, take that herpes zoster! |

I've had it twice actually. The first time it was really mild, so I was still succeptable to it a second time. It was burly the second time around. Both times where when I was < 7 or so.
Yeah, I'm so cool. |
