VA synth to complement Access Virus C
View this Thread in Original format

I'm thinking of getting a new hardware synth. Currently I have an Access Virus C. I'm thinking of getting a Novation Supernova II or a Roland JP-8080. Any recommendations?
hey cheggy
Neither.

Why get another subtractive synth. You're gonna find they do the same thing. I'm in the exact same situation mate, and I was thinking about getting something that works differently. I was looking at a waldorf microwave XT. You can get em 2nd hand for around $1000 plus shipping and power adaptor, or something more specialised like a bass station.

My suggestion is to keep diving into the virus. It can make such a great depth of sounds. Percussion wise its not the best, but otherwise, you've got a great tool.

I will second the Microwave XT.

You may want to look at the new Roland V-Synth, it can make sounds any VA can only dream of.
Etherium
I would suggest looking at the Alesis Ion or the JP. If you have the money, why not look at a Moog Voyager.

don't get a alesis ion. i read up on it some reviews and the synth isn't that great just looks en COOL AS HELL!:D

haha reviews, I mess with Alesis ION at my job and it rocks. But the virus can make the same sounds. 3 votes for microwave xt or even a waldorf pulse ... listen to the sounds a pulse can make

I second the Pulse recommendation.
