don't think sean paul is a good idea, he's got a pretty annoying voice..
if we were to remix a hip hop track, i think a good choice would be "where is the love" by black eyed peas! it has a few interesting chords and the chorus is pretty good as well.. |

My suggestion is benny benassi - satisfaction, it also wont be to hard getting the vocals of it.
Maybe someone could cut it out of the steve murano version.
I think there is much to be done with thoes vocals and melody...

i dont really support the "satisfaction" idea, but:
a: i have the acapella
b: the vocals were created in a simple text-to-speech program, so even if i didnt have the acapella, it really wouldnt be a problem to recreate them |

| I'm just wondering if and when will this comp actually happen, lol, we've been talking alot and it seams little action is taking place, I'm not trying to bash anyone, since this is my first comp I'm thinkin of entering, I'm not quite sure how it works, but as long as I can find the midi, accapalla, and/or the mp3, I'm in for anything |

would be a good choice for an ambient or chill-out remix...
but since these remix competitions mainly are for trance, i think we should stick with something that would sound good from the 130-150 bpm range

Well the original Adadgio for strings by samual barber (and the William Orbit remake) were both 60bpm whereas ferry corsten remix was around 138-140bpm, a similar theory surrounds almost every orchestral track that has been recreated into dance form :)
