Do a search man. I asked the same qusetion lik e2 months ago. Everyweek there is a new reason user posting this same question.
Open a new rack, (empty rack). Go to edit ---> Create mixer.
This is the mixing board taht all of your different instruments will run off of. Next go Edit ----> REdrum drum machine (or whatever its called). See all the individual tracks there, those are all of teh percussive sound you can program using this machine. Choose any one (the first one would make sence) and click on the folder button, find a sound you would like in the reason sound bank (the part of reason that has all of the sounds). See those buttons along the buttons of it, this is where you will select what note you want the beat to play one. For example if you select a kick drum bass beat, you will want to click on every fourth button and press play. You should have a beat going. :) The you program a hi hat and some snares and stuff. Go to the reason webist, www.reasonstation.net They're pretty helpful there. Sorry for the vauge instructions. It's late and I want to go to bed!

but if u set a pattern on ur redrum it will play for throughout the whole track, unless u set a volume sequencer to turn it on and off.
its easier to leave ur redrum pattern empty, and draw it note by note on the piano roll seqeuncer window, notes start at c1 i think.
and right click on the redrum, click create delay, set it to 3 ticks and set the dry/wet to about 9 o clock. dont forget to pan your individual redrum samples for a better stereo sound!!
another tip, make ur strings full stereo spread, and ur kick mono down the middle, synths half spread etc, its easier to master that way.
feel free to PM me with questions :) |

Thanks John, il get to ya if i get problems
like you said thats a mad way to master and yes its how i used to in orion..
i usually loop my drum kits to 16 steps, and use the same sample, coz im just used to the orion a1,a2,a3 way ?
Cant do this in Reason 2/2.5 can you? gota create a sequencer track under each catageroy if you want to loop yea? or something like that? |
