and one more thing you see other people sell records from out of UK for 5 U.K. pounds each and that's what aprox $11 CAD... no one has said a thing to him...
but I guess since we are in Canada that must some how change, and my vinyl should be worth less than than, eh? Now, that seems like a really good point to you guys... no? |

ok well yet, when fantom had his last sale even at the discount rates on quantities his cheapest prices were $7, but yet somehow mine must be less? where is the reasoning in that? |

| I dunno what are you trying to prove, but the last time I had a vinyl sale I sold most of the records for $5-6 each, and that's for quantities of 15-20 and more. I've barely managed to sell a few records (big ones too!) for more than $8 a piece. You charge whatever you want if you can sell it for that price... I know I couldn't! |

I've bought some big lots of records before - and I have no problem paying good money for records. Further - one should be able to set the prices as they choose. They're not selling them as a favor teh the buyer.
Here is how I work my pricing (when I buy - if I buy):
100+ I pay no more than $3-$5 each
50 to 100 I pay no more than $5-$6 each
25 to 100 I pay no more than $6-$7 each
10 to 25 I pay no more than $7-$8 each
5 to 10 I pay no more than $9-$10 each
2 to 5 I pay no more than $10-$12 each
1 I pay no more than $13-$14 each
(prices are Canadian)
EXCEPTIONS are if there are a number of records in the collection that I deem to be "rare" or "important to me" (for whatever reason):
I paid $35 for that famous Motorcycle 12" (as the rush comes)
I paid $20 for Tiesto Nyana sampler
I paid $15 for Bedrock Heaven Scent
Every once in a blue moon a pick up a lot of 30 for $100 - but this is HIGHLY unlikely, and usually there are only 5 to 8 records that I really want (the others are just nice to haves).

My advice / Bottom line - if you're only buying one, expect to pay clost to retail. WTF do you deserve a discount.
If you want to pay less - buy the whole lot. Pay $5, $6, $7, $8 each - take the good with the bad, and sell the ones you don't want @ cost. |

wow, umm, ok then, would you mind breakin' out their digits? cuz I've got a few hundred records that I could dump since I don't really play them anymore (mostly trance, and most of it is rare now I guess)...
