All Right, This is for all you smart, 20 lb brains out there. I am in the middle of designing my website, and i hit a massive roadblock. i want a message board section, but am having problems with it. i don't know much of anything about php, but i want to know if i can build it using sql, and html/javascript? if anybody has any recomendations on how to fix my problem (links, advice, or anything else)

| Thanks for the input ... but can i download theese things, and where can i get them. i was thinking about getting dreamweaver, would that be a good overall tool. I am used to just using notepad to write all my pages, and scripts in. but i am willing to use some other software. any advice on that matter? |

dont purchase dreamweaver if you can write in notepad dreamweaver if WYSIWYG so its bull with wrong codes not as bad as frontpage but bad

Hey, thanks for the input, i am going to try that phpbb program. i downloaded the free versian of dreamweaver ... and was dipleased. it royally ed some of my up ... glad i make back ups before i edit anything ... but i am hoping that this will do me well.

I use phpBB2 on my site (tho no one really visits the forums anymore, not even me) It is very simple to set up, all you need is php and SQl installed on your host and follow the instructions. www.phpbbhacks.com has some good add-ons and themes to download.
I also bought an HTML guide and hard coded my site by hand with a freeware HTML editor. You can find one by doing a search on www.versiontracker.com .
I hear that www.htmlgoodies.com is a good site to get tips and tricks from to build a site.
