His set @ both spirit & icon were really good(as from what i heard vandit night sets), just no recording...
and his icon set was cut short |

| Paul van dyk did some nice sets but the so called classic ones are getting a little boring, I am tired of hearing tracks like "time of our lives" and "for an angel" over and over again. Sound is evolving and I prefer to hear newer stuff, so I would say his best set is at the Powerzone 08-21-2004. |

A friend of mine mailed me a minidisk with many of his older sets, but they were not labeled with a location just "PVD_93_1" "PVD_94_3" I would guess PVD stands for paul van dyk, and that 93/94 were the years, and the last number was just the number of the set.
The only reason I say that his older sets were his best is because when I listened to them, they had tracks that I had never ever heard before, so they offered something to me. Anything new by him is completly useless to me. They are just average dance sets full of uninspired tracks, mixed together kick to kick. I'm sure its great for the club, but it does nothing for me, as I am not a clubber.
I respect paul van dyk, but I do not like his current outlook on electronic music at all. |
