I guess I'm the only one in here that likes him then. :D
I think the problem is they get him to do too many closing sets when he's not really that sort of DJ. It's hard to come on after a big name, big room DJ and keep people going with progressive music. Kasey Taylor's usually the only one who can pull it off, but that's because he has such a distinct sound that stands alone that he can still come on after a big name DJ and hold his own. Sean Quinn, as much as I like him, just isn't really capable of coming on after a big name and having an impact.
He should really do the warm-up sets instead: I think the only two times I've seen him do a "warm up" set he's been pretty bloody good. When he played right before Dave Seaman at the GU think back in Jan 2002 he almost stole the show and he was good at Two Tribes 03 as well when he and Kasey played back to back melodic sets. I think Kasey needs to do the closing sets, or - if he's not avalible (which is quite a lot these days :-/) - maybe give someone like Mark James a go, as he generally knows how to play out to a crowd.
So Sean Quinn = Good, Sean Quinn Closing = Not so good.

Hmmm.... you sure? It was definately Kasey Taylor straight after Sasha, because I remember my mate from uni saying "I've got a feeling that Kasey's gonna come on after this and tear the joint apart" and I can remember sending him an SMS later on saying "You weren't wrong" when he came on. Although Sean Quinn may have played a set after that of course if that's what you mean.... :conf: |

| yeah sean quinn was the last guy on when we left, he played after taylor. i think i remember liking one of them, but like i said it just felt like it was building up then going nowhere, and then falling back down again. |

| He lost it a few years back I reckon, although he rocked it at Summadayze in 2002, Quinn played Steve Mason - Conception vessel & it went off. But generally his sets don't go anywhere. |

Sean Quinn was the king of the close for about 8 years....
Danny Howells was PLaying some pretty bangin prog tech towards the end there and Sean Quinn could have easily gone off on his little journey of minimal prog stuff...but he didnt...first track was some ultra melodic stuff...the crowd went ooohh and most of em stayed till the end of the night...when he droppped a new just finished solo track...its gunna be big.. |

so JulesPLees is a SQ fan... fair enough in fact it doesn't really surprise me.
I remember the days when he was doing clubbers breakfast on KISSFM that was just classic I think that is why I like him cause it was always a crack up... |
