| i remember all the great old releases on hooj. i remember during the whole bonzai thing someone mentioning that another well known record label would follow so i guess this is it. anyway, i don't know what they've released lately, but they did release some awesome tunes. i think that part of the problem that these record companys are having is that just about every successful dj has some kind of record label now and they sign music to those instead of needing to be signed elsewhere... |

Quote from Ben Lost - DJ & A&R @ Lost Language
Gutted.
Without doubt Hooj has been one of the scenes most consistently great labels over the past 13 years.
Space Manouvres, Everytime, Shecan, The Orange Theme, Cafe Del Mar, Sacred Cycles, Invisible, Make Me Whole, Voices, Seven Cities, Roaches, Dream Universe, Netherworld, West On 27th, Beachball, Greece 2000, Schoneburg, Gamemaster, Body Shine, Fixation, Touched By God...
It will be missed.
However, despite a tricky transitional period over the next couple of weeks, Lost Language will continue as normal.

From Hooj's email.
Many of you will be aware of the situation concerning Hooj Choons. For those of you who aren't please see the statement at www.hoojchoons.co.uk.
Saddened as we all are by the situation, please be assured that none of this affects hooj.com in the immediate future. Key members of staff involved in Hooj.com, one of the few parts of the Hooj set up to do well despite current industry problems, will be running Hooj.com as usual for the time being.
Over the next month however, there will be a name and ownership change and a whole new look to the site as time and resources spent fighting the fight over at Hooj Choons are redeployed towards the site. Expect to see a wider range of available music (in all formats) as redeployed additions to the team spend time delving into deeper, leftfield waters. Also look out for a proper DVD section specializing in culty/ arthouse/ quality independent films, as well all music related titles.
We're also sorting out web space for an informal radio set up - you send in your mixes, with full tracklisting, and we'll be rotating the best of them (along with contributions from in-house jocks, etc) over a fortnightly basis, from 2.00 pm GMT to 2.00 am daily. Any of you wishing to participate in this, please have the mixes ready for the end of September. Mailing address to follow.
All bought promo credits will usable either on Hooj.com for the time being, or the new site thereafter.
We apologize for any alarm caused by Hooj Choons' apparently sudden demise, but do hope that the quality service provided by Hooj.com over the last couple of years will persuade you to stick with the successor site.
Yours,
Hooj.com
Thank you for the great tunes. |

| quote: | | This to an extent is true, they had a cracking label releasing quality trance and then suddenly went all Progressive arty farty. Same thing happened at Platipus.. are they next to go ??? |
Ok. Quality trance in your terms is still dated circa 1999...how bout you look ahead and try your tastes in different, more innovative styles rather than being stuck on glory-trance days top hit anthems.
That's not to say I dont like them. But whining about how Hooj's releasing arty farty progressive is plainly put a stupid thing to say. |

Thanks for the clarification on the LL issue.
Hooj has put out some great tracks in recent times, if there are prog haters out there so be it, don't bash them for going prog.
BTW: Maria, assuming that's you in your avatar...:eyes::crazy::eyes::crazy::eyes: LOL :) (had to do it!) |

Just because you don't like progressive house doesn't mean that it's ' and wank'
Hooj managed to release some excellent records over the past couple of years, the demand just wasn't there. |
