When i was studying some marketing I used a number of books for reference, including kotlers as his work is pretty much as it is, also may be worth doing a quick brief look at some consumer behaviour, Engel's work is pretty good and i used his model for a few bits of coursework ive done.

as to studying its a case of research, checking out case studies and in the text books they will ahve exercieses which help to

Studying is like sex, you need to put yourself in the mood... find a comfy and relaxing spot and put some music on or just enjoy the silence if you need all your concentration.. some people like to study in front of the Tv, other prefer lying on a couch, on the bed or going to a library, you have to find whatever ambiance suits you

read the chapters and then take a good guess of what the test might look like, and learn that material well. I do it all the time, and almost never get bit in the ass for it. i have alot of experience tho!

Go to a night club, preferrably playing trance with someone like Paul van Dyk behind da beatbox, and the next day you'll be super eager to do all university work necessary. Nightlife gives you ... life! Energy! The power to conquer your obstacles ... hehe, this might not be a good suggestion, but this is a good waste of a post ...... LMAO

well no wonder studying sucks. your studying marketing. it doesn't get too much more boring than that. i suggest studying something interesting :p

a method that i use when i read/study, is to highlite the major ideas and such in the text book, then when its time for the test, i just read the highlites. don't go highlite happy tho. just get important stuff. stuff that looks like it would be a good question on a test.

now its different for everyclass. sometimes your teacher will post all hte notes on the net and you can just download those and read those. and forget about reading the book.

all depends.
caffiene is also a very nice thing to have when you study, it helps me concentrate and motivates me. i normally find myself drinking a cup of coffee when i study or popping some excedrin (contains caffiene, aspirin and acetominaphen).
just keep yourself focused. catch yourself when your mind starts to wander. and just clear your mind and do it.

If there's no time left and you know nothing, ditch the textbook and read through the lecture notes... Only use the textbook for stuff you don't understand or stuff that you know wil be a major part of the exam...

steal the test! :whip:

or if that ain't possible, get some old exams. preferably, tests written from the same prof teaching the course. this way you can get familiar with the test format and the types of questions to expect.
