I go to NYU...I'm actually posting from the computer lab right now. haha, anyways...its a lot of fun here..lots of clubs and bars and such...although, its kinda hard to find peole who are into EDM...most people around here are into either really bad EDM or rap and pop type stuff...but i manage somehow.

| I used to go to the University at Buffalo... decent school, enough to do... Toronto is about an hour and 20 min away. The people in Buffalo seemed to have no clue even WHAT trance is, though... except I met one kid who really loved the stuff. I work full time now but I'm going for an MBA degree at Adelphi Univ, which is a LOT smaller but nicer campus in Long Island. |

if you have money and grades definitely apply to nyu, barnard and columbia--they offer top-notch schooling and resources in virtually every program imaginable.
Fordham is ok, but kind of socially dead--especially if you attend the Bronx campus where most classes are offered (the campus itself is very pretty tho). The Lincoln center campus has the obvious advantages of being in the city, but my understanding is that there's less of a course selection there. If you're artistically inclined, look at the School of Visual Arts or its less funky but more highly regarded counterpart, the Pratt Institute.
If your grades are so-so, and you have a good idea what you specifically want to study, look at the CUNY/SUNY system--it's the public university system so it's cheaper, and you get a good bang for your buck (e.g. if you want to study business look at Baruch; engineering at City College; social sciences/humanities at Hunter; fashion at F.I.T.).
Don't bother applying to lower-tier private schools like St. John's, Pace, Adelphi, Hofstra, etc. unless they're giving you money--otherwise you're flushing cash down the drain for an education that can be had (and probably surpassed) at any number of public schools. |

I've got the grades, the record, the extracurriculars, hard as hell classes, etc. That's not a problem. I'd have to apply for a ton of schholarships to get NYU or Columbia. I've got no special interest in Fordham really....socially dead? Eeek.
I'm not going for the artistic schooling. I wish I had some kind of extraordinary musical talent but I'm not that gifted...
I heard of Adelphi and Hofstra ,definitely not going to either of them anyway.
I just want a nice balance of a good education, social/entertainment scene that isn't out in hicksville somewhere or leave me in debt for the rest of my life! however, nothing is that simple, you have to compromise....unfortunately. |

Actually - Adelphi supposedly has a pretty decent MBA program... I guess I gotta stick up for it cuz that's where I'm going :P Expensive as hell, and no where near as good as say UB... but it's probably the best program on the Island. |
