1) Caffeine.
2) Fresh air.
3) Full stomach.
4) Avoid sitting down if possible and stay active (go for a walk or do some star-jumps or something if you feel yourself nodding off).
And that's about all you can do really. Generally when I pull an all-nighter it's not through choice (my sleeping pattern is bad, so if I have to be up early I quite often can't get to sleep before I need to be out the door) but these things help if you're trying to stay awake.
Just don't over-do the caffeine otherwise instead of keeping you awake it'll just make you feel irritable and ill. A Red Bull / Strong coffee every couple of hours should do the trick. |

Yeah I played cricket a few weeks ago with a friend who'd been out on stuff all night. He had a few hours sleep, then had 2 nurofens and played some cricket with us.
Ended up majorly damaging his wrist from bowling, simply because he was hurting himself, but couldn't feel it due to the painkillers :/ |

ahh all nighters...what would I do without them! I only really do them for school...but I have done them in the past just for twisted amusement :p
Anyway, caffeine is always good. A wise (or maybe just stupid) friend told me a great recipe involving copious amounts of coffee, milo, sugar and a bit of milk that worked for me. it certainly woke me up whenever I found myself nodding off (due to the taste i'm sure). it begins to taste somewhat pleasant after awhile.
I find chatting to people throughout the night helpful. although it can be distracting, and you'll end up doing no work at all, but at least you stayed awake :p
Splashing your face with cold water every now and then, and listening to loud, energetic music helps me as well.
although after doing all that i'm always incredibly irritable and tired the next day..hahah ah well :nervous: |
