As crazy as this might sound, I've been using DN-2000's for like... 4 years now :P and just recently tried mixing on them. Beautiful my friend beautiful. It takes a bit getting used to jogging around on the smallish dial (I want my 12" 'dial' back ;) ) but it's good. Denon seems quality gear - it's what everyone in here recommended to me, it's what the pro audio shop recommended, etc, etc. I found out for 1000 CDN you can get a denon set (DN-4000) that has MP3 playback, seemless looping, the works. That's beautiful my friend.

some places with prices:
www.pssl.com
www.123dj.com
www.etronics.com
www.djmart.com
you should check them all out. i just went to them briefly and their prices can very quite a bit. they are in US dollars, i dont know any canadian websites, sorry. the axis 8s look good for the money, 123dj has them for $270, not a bad deal. i would go with them over the axis 2s because they have more useful features like seemless looping and master tempo, and i think they have some effects built it. you might also want to look at the denon 2100f, i think they have been discontinued by denon but 123dj has them for $699. pioneer cdj 100s are pretty popular and they usually go for about $300ea. they maybe out of your price range but they are kick ass cd players. as for a mixer, who knows, there are tons of them out there. for the money behringer seems to have things locked down with the vmx 200/300 and djx 700, i hope this helps.
also dj tranz works at djmart, maybe he could recomend some equiptment in your price range |

Dude, DON'T even bother looking at 123ripoffdj.com, bunch of crooks, and they are NOT AUTHORIZED dealer which means no manufacturers warranty!!!
etronics is an iffy store as well, heard many negative things about them.
Cheers... |

you can get prices from 123dj.com or etronics or other dealers and have pssl.com beat that price by 10%. pssl.com is probably one of the best ONLINE DJ sites IMO. |
