When recording a bass drum from my sampler to audio in SX I noticed once I opened up the audio editor and zoomed in that the bass drum hits were not right on each bar.I then rerecorded a bass drum from a Korg EM1 and noticed the bd hits were even farther off the bars.Should my audio be lined up perfectly on each bar, I would assume yes.Is this a latency problem?MIDI problem? or is this no problem at all? Sometimes I get the feeling that nmy songs dont have that "tight" feel to them, could this be the culprit? I attach screen capture of what I saw in the audio editor.

I think there may be some midi delay.. The timing it takes for the midi signal to triger the sound. then the delay for the sound to then get recorded... Any delays thourgh both processes and your tracks will suffer...

How to fix: You may be running several programs at the same time wich may slow down your computers proceesing. Close all programs you dont need open.

Your midi interface is slow. There are some midi interfaces that just plain suck. So make sure you have a good one.

If I think of anything else I'll come back...

Its its a midisport then there should be no problem.. They are pritty good..

I have another suggestion that just may be the problem.. TRY to ajust your "Asio streaming buffer". I find that different asio drivers will affect your midi out signals if the buffer settings arent set to a proper value..

hey cheggy
If you're working with hardware, then you really shouldn't be having that great a latency issue. Are you sure that you have the marker right on the bar line, and not a little bit off when you hit record.

I have read about this problem before on the website of olav basoski. You should check out this link for more information. I'm not sure if he came up with a solution though...
