so what do you guys think about the new AMD Athalon64 and Athalon64 FX.... monster or what?
The Athlon 64 FX line is the no-holds-barred performance leader aimed at PC enthusiasts, gamers, multimedia mavens, and digital designers. The first entry is the Athlon 64 FX Series 51 (FX-51) running at 2.2 GHz. We had hoped for an Athlon 64–equipped PC for this roundup, but it appears that AMD's initial partners aren't biting on that chip yet. -pc mag |

| can i point out a 2GHz powermac G5 runs at 2.2 times the efficiency of a 3GHz PC, thats 33% more efficient, and do you really think AMD care about reality, they just want to put the biggest number on the box, whether or not it actually is any faster at all |

even tho what you just said doesn't make sense mathematically. Apple said the same thing (effiencicy) about the G4 versus PC, but in reality, the PC running the same applicationsd doing the same transformations (photshop, premiere, etc...) run ALOT faster than the MAC...
don't believe all the marketing.
I'd still check the G5 tho... OSX is an intresting OS. |
