Ok... I have been mixing latlely and I noticed that about 60% of my records are un-mixable. How do you know what vinly to buy? How do you know the beats will match?
dJohn
Either your not beatmatching correctly, or your BPM ranges are too different. Some songs have a base BPM thats higher than the max pitched BPM of some other songs.
Keep trying. Assuming your buying trance, there shouldn't be a reason why the beats aren't matched up other than the fact that your not doing something right.

Maybe you are beatmatching them correctly but the problem might be the Harmonic mixing you do .
Hope it helps

Yes nothing is unmixable but some tunes don't mix well with others!

How do you know if tunes will mix well? You get it eventually after tons of practise!
Freak
Thats the bit that takes practice and a long while to understand...

Any fool can pitch two tunes together- the art of mixing and programming is slightly harder....

Certain tracks may seem impossible to mix, but that is usually not the case. It takes a bit of experience and experimenting on your behalf to get the hang of mixing certain tunes a certain way in certain situations. Keep in mind not all tunes are gonna be mixed in the same and you may need to eq or cut different on the mix to make it sound good. Keep practicing, it will come over time.

Know the tunes inside and out, their beat structures, intros, breakdowns, etc and like other ppl here said, make sure they dont clash harmonicaly.

how do you mix trance with hip hop, it is mixable but wont make any sense, so its unmixable in that way. hip hop and drum and bass can mix fine, ive tried it a few times and it seemed to be fun.:D
