I had a great time!! TAIII was my first at sys and even tho I had a good time, not as good as max. To say my guv sidekick didn't like the place would be an understatement...but EVERY single person I spoke to otherwise I got good reviews and not a single bad one. So I had to move my 'so-far-so-good' impression to a better one! I knew it was prob gonna happen just not when. Max Graham was the perfect excuse.
We reached the lineup just after 10 and four drinks after 2 weeks feels pretttty good. DJ booth setup was nice prob most crowd connective I've seen(is it like this at his every set?). The place was empty at this point so I grabbed more drinks and just let the vibe sink in. VIP room opened 11'ish with mobius spinnin and it was all 'show support till max' time.I tried replacing John..haha but no easy job...keyword: tried ;)
I love the guys style first...laid back yet talented..he seems like hes spinnin at his 50% most of the time yet he can fire it up if he wants. He put his cell phone on top of the deck so to hide some switches. I asked him whats the phone doing here(sign language of course) he said its sleeping...hehehe..total joker!! plus the beer and just his attitude soooo...CANADIAN!!! :D Started really dancing from after 2 and next thing i know its almost 7 :eyes:
Cept for one or two 'instances', great night!! shoutouts go to:
samhouse-likewise! what time didja reach home? 2 here

Oh my, what a weekend.....
As Halo mentioned Max was not his usual Friday night. System had a lot of technical difficulties at the start of the night, Max was being his usual social self and it didn't really start to take any direction until about 4:00am IMO. I won't get into detail but the night was more of a "fun" night than a music night. Although we got to hear the infamous "Ride" and my current fav. Madoka - Altered. Loved what he was dropping at 5:00am, really got me moving and the club had cleared somewhat. I had fun talking to those of you I now know.

trancegeek - again you left before it got good but I can understand where you were coming from, should have took me up on my offer ;). Thanks for that inside scoop and for those prog whores out there stay tuned for what this guy has to deliver!

The beautiful brunette - nice to finally have a conversation with you although I never got to say bye. :( When did you say you were off to Moscow again?

Tara and Matt - always my favorite couple, and you stayed right till the end like true partiers, very cool! Prog Heads get Matt's CD!!!!:eyes:

Erika - nice to meet you!

StereoPrincess - let's say that that bull that was flying around when the whole PP thing was going on is totally not true. I wasn't sure if you knew who I was off the start but I'm glad we got to say hi. Another trooper!

Halo - you're an animal and have nothing to hang your head about (even if you were making an ass of yourself AGAIN! - Glow Stick was still better)you bring your own vibe to the club and it is much appreciated to me and the others that know how much you love our scene. Cheers to you man.

E2EK1EL - Never saw ya man, must have been in the VIP all night.

Anyways glad I made it out, after party went on for way too long and I'm now feeling it here at work but music was def. on point ;)

GUYS NIGHT OUT!!!

I've probably heard max spin 4 or 5 times and this is by far the best I've ever heard him spin. Not due to the mixing or technical skills - but due to the overall good/fun vibe SystemS had.

My new nickname for Max Graham is:

Max "Poon Tang" Graham

That guy is such a lady killer! :eyes: He nearly let a record run about because he was flirting/picking up. :)

You can't be serious...?
That is almost insulting him as even he knows he wasn't on.

BAHAHAH I'm still recovering! I love all these little stories that are surfacing, Max is such an entertainer.

Nismodreams...did we not talk? I swear we did dude? hah I'm confused, whatever!

Blast Max's "Shoreline" and it will bring the night back so hard. That track blew the ing roof off.

yeah shawzy, I should've taken you up on that, the party looked like it was getting better and better... i made up for it at lee burridge the following night... you should've come out to that too, he ripped us all to shreds...

I heard burridge was on, would have liked to catch him too.

As for S&P, taking it easy through October.
It is my favorite time of the year to do "other" things I guess you could say.
I've seen them twice now, they are nice and dark....really druggy music. I like'm :D
Have fun at that, and I'll catch up with ya in a few weeks.

TranceGeek
is it true they play similar to deep dish?
ShAwZy
No.
People may say that cause they opened for Deep Dish back in January of 2001 at the Kool Haus and of course had to alter their sound a bit.
They just came out with a new CD "Addictive Beats". I find them to me a little more Proggy where DD is a little more Housey. You can probably bet since they are playing at System they will get pretty dark, especially since it's a Breathe night.
Check them out for sure.

Message from Max Graham:

had fun but it lacked the magic i felt in the room at the first shine...technical difficulties were a factor...russells laptop crapped out...needles and decks were a problem...all that had a noticable effect on the vibe.
i did try to play different and like any dj's career its always a work in progress...the whole night is a work in progress. i tried different musical directions this time to not be the same as the first one

we know what worked the first time and what did and didnt work this time...and as you know we are going to work our butts off to make sure the third installment incorporates all that it can to be the best one.
