I remember hearing about one part of the RAVE act, the 'repetative music sub-act'. Any gathering of 6 or more people, where there is repetative music being played, is classed as a rave, and will be shut down if there is not legalities like a license and the promoter has informed the local police that there will be a rave on.....

ing ridiculous

Hopefully, it will prevent ppl from coming to emergency and making my job a whole lot easier :p

I know people on drugs etc may cause other accidents and the like but is there that many people that come to emergency due to drug overdoses? a little off topic, but just interested...

Going on heroin let alone there is a huge amount of Od's that get treated in the ER. I dont have the specific number of people per week, but its a lot considering.
Talking about other illicit drugs not so much, the people u see entering the ER are people who i believe aren't educated enough generally in the first place, these ppl are the first timers, but many are also the ppl who like to mix substances together.

In saying this it isnt just ppl that OD, i've recently had a family member get admitted into the psych ward for drug induced psychosis, i was talkin to the nurse in charge and she said the rates of ppl aged 16-30 are increasing each year. Many are put on suicide watch, who need constant protection from themselves and others. These people can go home after a few weeks. But for them to get admitted into hospital they usually have to hurt themselves or have some signs of self destruction. For example jumping in front of a tram, getting behind the wheel. But at the end of the day the police probably cant stop them from doing it. Like how many ppl do drink and drive and never get caught, my friends do it every weekend.

Another dimension of the er is the ppl who have been wounded either from a stab wound, gun shot ect ect associated with drugs, this generally is the harder stuff like coke and heroin.
But still if this new device that the police have can save someone's life, then at the end of the day isnt it worth it.

if they wanna save some lives why not put all the money they waste on tryin to catch drug users into our hospitals.

Lets face it, ecstasy, speed and marijuana users arent hurting anyone, except maybe themselves but then so are cigarette smokers

thats the problem i dont take drugs and many people dont, but Im afraid I wont be able to go to events because our parties have been stereotyped as drug parties...and the US government is looking to Ban dance music because they think the music is behind the drugs.

What a load of hog wash

There is no way in hell they are going to shut down ALL paces with 'repetitive music'... how screwed is that...?

My opinion is is that if ur gonna take drugs, then go ahead.. as long as your prepaired to to take the risk with the police and with your own health then by all means pop a few pills...

But for those that have no idea.. well your really taking a big risk, and it'll probably end in a very bad way.

Well based on substantiated fact and conclusive evidence, I think that would be a clear and rational decision to make!

All music is repetitive... all music is predictable...

when are these fkn arsed `developed` societies gonna get off their fkn high horse... for s sake pot is NATURAL, if someone wants to take speed or xtc fkn let them.... our society would be sooooooooo much better if drugs were just fkn legalised! less people in jail, less crimes for people to commit (especially organised crime and addicts breaking into houses for money), safer drugs, wits that dont know moderation will die one day from their stupidity whether it be from xtc, alchie or fkn eating too many bananas, alot more money would be in the public system in all areas especially police. Drug education would become so much more accurate and people would actually listen to what the government has to say about it.

ahhhhhhh just legalise it..... its so fkn simple.... THERE ARE NO GOOD POINTS AGAINST LEGALISING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this topic gets me sooo fkn pissed off
